First, I need to check oil level with my inaccurate dipstick. Then, I aim to lose my burnout virginity to an unimpressive tire-conscientious squeak, and maybe find some new roads. Any of you fellow locals have any secret driving roads you could tell me about? I only know of a few, with slow traffic.

Good day trip. Gotta get out of the immediate suburbs to really get away from traffic.

I did it this spring (sort of) in a very different car ( http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/got-to-take-th… ). Great drive, just a bit far given the amount of gas my car drinks, the time it would take, and the number of minivans I'd end up behind. Next time I'm out at my grandparents' ill tackle it in the C4, hopefully on a weekday! I kind of want to try out Joplin Road, but I can't find many others...

I've heard the loop through riverside rd on the MD side is cool. Never done it personally though since I'm allergic to MD.

Finally someone else with a MD allergy! It's too bad because my ball team is the Orioles but Baltimore is the exception to the rule I suppose. Thanks for the recommendation!

I have to go to Aberdeen for work a couple times a month. Pure hatred.

Ouch, that would definitely get old. Why so infrequently but regularly (if you don't mind my asking)? At least it isn't a couple times a week I guess. You're in VA?

The guys up at the proving grounds there do our physical testing for us. Have to go inspect the installation and stuff before they blow stuff up so we get the right data.
Oh, and meetings, never ending meetings.
Yup, I'm in Springfield work in Alexandria.

How long a loop?

Ah I see. I like the sound of blowing shit up, meeting in Aberdeen not so much. I live in Alexandria, so that's cool.

If you're talking about riverside rd, I'm trying to find out myself! I'll let you know what I find.

I think it's about 40 miles! Seems like a good drive, though.

those are some awesome roads! The GLI sounds good. I've been thinking about just painter's-taping my iPotato to my passenger seat and doing a drive along video.

I know, but I have neither a DSLR or the money to buy one, so... Potato taped to seat!

Only if I put I mirror in the garage! But I do have enough mileage on my car to count for two. And my car cost less than the D4 when it came out haha
(first world problems!)
